12 May (NucNet): The World Association of Nuclear Operators (Wano) will begin its biennial general meeting in Russia this weekend with recommendations put forward by its own Post-Fukushima Commission at the top of the agenda.
In an interview with NucNet, Wano managing director Ken Ellis said the commission had taken a “very introspective” look at Wano in the wake of the March 2011 Fukushima-Daiichi accident and had produced five recommendations to be discussed at the meeting, which begins on 18 May 2013 in Moscow.
In the interview, Mr Ellis also talks about cooperation with the IAEA and the implementation of pre-startup reviews.
