23 May (NucNet): The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development’s Nuclear Energy Agency (OECD/NEA) has signed a memorandum of understanding with China’s nuclear regulator, the National Nuclear Safety Administration (NNSA), the OECD/NEA said in a statement.
The MoU in the field of nuclear and radiation safety aims to share experience on the effective regulation and oversight of nuclear safety and to share best practices in licensing and oversight activities.
The agreement also establishes cooperation on nuclear safety research, the development of international legal frameworks and the performance of analyses, which are “essential” for the safe and environmentally friendly use of nuclear energy.
