NucNet uses metric units based on recommendations by the ISO (International Organisation for Standardisation) and named prefixes.
Non-metric units are normally recalculated.

Using scientific notation (for example, 3·10-3 = 3xE-3 = 0.003) often results in misunderstanding when communicating with a general audience.
To prevent confusion, NucNet uses named prefixes (for example, nano = n for a billionth and milli = m for a thousandth of an ISO unit; or kilo = k for a thousand times and giga = G for a billion times an ISO unit) or named factors of the so-called short scale (e.g., 1 billion = 1,000,000,000).
