29 Nov (NucNet): A team from the International Atomic Energy Agency is visiting the Fukushima-Daiichi nuclear power plant in Japan as part of an independent review of efforts and plans to decommission the plant.
The 19-member team is visiting the site for two weeks at the request of the Japanese government. The visit began on 25 November 2013.
On 27 November the team was present during the operation to remove fuel assemblies from the Unit 4 spent fuel pool.
