Q&A: What Is The Future For Fast Reactor Technology?

28 Jun (NucNet): Fast-neutron reactor systems, operated in a fully closed fuel cycle, have the potential to greatly improve the sustainability of nuclear power, according to Vladimir Kriventsev, team leader for fast reactor technology development at the International Atomic Energy Agency, Mr Kriventsev, one of around 700 delegates at a fast reactor conference in Yekaterinburg, Russia, this week, spoke to NucNet about the possibilities and challenges of technology development in the sector, the IAEA’s role, and the economic case for fast reactors.
