21 Feb (NucNet): Spanish nuclear industry group Foro Nuclear and the electrical industry association Unesa have agreed to integrate their activities related to nuclear energy, Foro Nuclear said in a statement on 21 February 2018.

The nuclear group said the integration had been agreed unanimously by its members and would be effective immediately with staff from both organisations sharing the same office in Madrid.

Foro Nuclear said the integration would strengthen the nuclear sector by combining all activities related to nuclear energy into a single association.

Foro Nuclear president Ignacio Araluce said the integration would allow it to promote the nuclear industry “with greater intensity”. He said Foro Nuclear has represented the Spanish nuclear industry since 1962 and would continue to defend the need for nuclear in the country’s energy mix.
