24 Units Set To Be Decommissioned, Says Nuclear Forum
The Genkai nuclear plant in Japan, which will be decommissioned.
Twenty-four of Japan’s 42 commercial nuclear units have been designated for decommissioning and plans for the decommissioning of nine have already been approved by the country’s regulator, the Japan Atomic Industrial Forum said.The nine are Tokai-2 and Tsuruga-1 (Japan Atomic Power Company); Hamaoka-1 and -2 (Chubu Electric Power Company); Mihama-1 and -2 (Kansai Electric Power Company); Shimane-1 (Chugoku Electric Power Company); Ikata-1 (Shikoku Electric Power Company); Genkai-1 (Kyushu Electric Power Company).
