Oregon-based small modular reactor (SMR) developer NuScale Power announcedit has signed a memorandum of understanding with Czech utility ČEZ to evaluate the potential for deployment of NuScale’s SMR design in the central European country.NuScale said that under the SMR agreement, it will exchange nuclear and technical expertise with ČEZ, including information related to nuclear supply chain development, construction, operation and maintenance. According to NuScale, the agreement comes as ČEZ is looking for potential nuclear energy solutions, including the construction of SMRs and refurbishments of existing nuclear facilities.
