Canada’s ARC-100 advanced small modular reactor (SMR) has passed the first stage of Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) vendor design review (VDR) process, project developer ARC Nuclear Canada said in a statement. The statement said phase one of the VDR provides detailed feedback about the vendor’s understanding of CNSC’s requirements for a nuclear power plant in Canada but does not certify the design or licence the reactor.ARC Canada said completing the first stage of the VDR is a “major milestone” for the development of the ARC-100 project.
