Belgium’s Regulator Gives Go-Ahead For Restart After Latest RPV Checks

The Doel-3 nuclear power reactor in Belgium has been cleared for restart after a scheduled outage to check for imperfections in the steel walls of its reactor pressure vessel, Belgium’s regulator said.The Belgian Federal Agency for Nuclear Control (Fanc) said “hydrogen microbubbles” in the walls of the RPV have not evolved and “no new indications have emerged”.
