Today Brazil officially joined NucNet, with the Comissao Nacional de Energia Nuclear (CNEN - the National Nuclear Energy Commission) as the Brazilian member organisation. The country's membership of the network was confirmed by the CNEN President, Mr. Marcio Costa. Along with the commission, Brazil's membership also comprises FURNAS (Furnas Centrais Elétricas SA) which operates the Angra-1 nuclear unit, and NUCLEN (Nuclebras Engenharia SA) which has been a subscriber for some time, and which reports on Angra-2. Argentina is already associated with NucNet, and its membersip is due to be made fully official in the very near future.
