Azerbaijan will study the options for the possible construction of a nuclear power station in the Caspian country, according to Rosatom’s director general Alexlei Likhachev as quoted by Russian state news agency Tass.

Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom is "ready" to offer Azerbaijan construction of a nuclear power station with a large capacity, Mr Likhachev said.

He said the reason for that is the fast-growing pace of electricity consumption in the country, which rose by 14% in 2018.
