CNNP Begins Construction At Zhangzhou Nuclear Station
China National Nuclear Power Company (CNNP) started construction of the Zhangzhou nuclear project today (16 October), the company said in a filing to the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

The project, which will use China’s indigenous Generation III HPR1000 reactor technology, also known as the Hualong One, was the first new commercial nuclear project to be approved by China in three years.

CNNP, which is part-owned by state-owned China National Nuclear Corporation, is planning two Hualong One plants at the Zhangzhou site, in Fujian province in the east of the country.
