Cold Function Tests Complete At China’s Taishan-1 EPR

2 Feb (NucNet): Cold function tests have been completed at Unit 1 of the Taishan nuclear power plant in China’s Guangdong province, with the unit expected to start up later this year and become the first EPR reactor to begin operating. The tests were completed on 27 January 2016, China General Nuclear (CGN) said. The company said the milestone marks the first cold test to be completed on an EPR nuclear plant. There are two Areva EPR reactor units under construction at Taishan.
