DOE Awards $5.8 Million For Projects To Reduce Cost Of New Nuclear
GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy, which is leading the project team, is one of a number of companies developing an SMR.
The US Department of Energy has announced $5.8m in funding to develop three construction technologies that together can reduce the cost of new nuclear builds –including small modular reactors – by more than 10%.
