The Obama administration ended work at Yucca Mountain in 2010.
The US Department of Energy has restarted the process to find interim storage sites for the nation’s spent nuclear fuel, more than a decade after plans for a final repository at Yucca Mountain in Nevada were ultimately rejected for being unworkable.
