Ukrainian state nuclear power company Energoatom’s experts visited the site of the cancelled Belene nuclear power station project in northern Bulgaria on 13 May to assess unused Russia-made VVER-1000 nuclear island equipment ahead of buying it, according to Bulgaria’s National Electricity Company (NEK).
