There is a growing sense of realism in Europe about the need for complementing intermittent energy production from renewables with baseload electricity production, leading to a renewed interest in nuclear energy as a part of the new energy future, European commissioner for energy Kadri Simson told the World Nuclear Exhibition in Paris.
