Areva announced yesterday that its joint subsidiary with Siemens, Framatome ANP, has acquired Spanish nuclear services company Tecnimarse SL as “part of a strategy to strengthen the presence of Framatome ANP in the Spanish nuclear market”.
Tecnimarse – located in Tarragona, Spain, and with a turnover of approximately 5 million euros – has experience in the maintenance of mechanical components and, in particular, of valves. It has been working in all nine nuclear power units in Spain as well as in units in Belgium, Brazil, China, France, Slovenia and Switzerland. For several years, Tecnimarse has been cooperating with Framatome ANP in the field of in-situ and remote valve diagnostics and in the mechanical cleaning of steam generators.
Framatome ANP plans to “enlarge Tecnimarse's portfolio to provide to its customers an increased scope of nuclear services from a local platform”.
