Agency calls for strengthening of oversight of radiation protection for workers
Japan has strengthened inspections as part of extensive efforts in recent years to improve its regulatory framework for nuclear and radiation safety, an International Atomic Energy Agency team said.The Integrated Regulatory Review Service (IRRS) team recognised that significant progress had been made since a previous IAEA mission in 2016. However, they urged Japan to further strengthen its regulatory oversight of radiation protection for workers.
