Nuclear energy’s share of electricity in India is increasing, but at a much slower pace than coal and renewables, a report by the International Energy Agency says. The report, the Paris-based agency’s first in-depth study of India’s energy policies, says nuclear accounts for below 3% of total electricity generation, but there are plans to increase its capacity. India’s objective is to reach 63 GW of installed nuclear power capacity by 2032, a large increase compared to today’s installed capacity of around 7 GW in 2019.
