15 Nov (NucNet): The Lithuanian State Nuclear Power Inspectorate (Vatesi) has become a member of the European Nuclear Security Regulator’s Association (Ensra).
Michail Demcenko, head of Vatesi, said membership will provide an opportunity to gain international experience and to improve activities for upgrading security at Lithuania’s nuclear facilities.
Ensra has 15 members: Belgium, the Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Netherlands, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Poland and Lithuania.
Lithuania has two permanently shut down nuclear reactors at the Ignalina nuclear plant.
