New Government Says Nuclear Can Have Role In Carbon-Neutrality Plans

Finland’s government said it would welcome the extension of existing nuclear power plant licences on condition the country’s nuclear regulator supported any applications.

Finland’s new centre-left coalition government made the comment in a detailed policy document released on Tuesday. The document said the government plans to “move towards carbon neutrality by 2035”, one of the fastest targets set around the world.
