Nuclear’s Future Is As Low-Carbon Back-Up, Says NEA Study

29 Nov (NucNet): Nuclear energy remains the only major dispatchable low-carbon source of electricity that is not limited in supply, but it will need to become “more flexible” because it will be increasingly valued not as a provider of baseload electricity but as a provider of low-carbon back-up capacity, a study by the OECD’s Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) says.
