Reactors can be built on retired coal plant sites and use existing infrastructure
US-based small modular reactor developer NuScale Power has signed a three-way memorandum of understanding with Poland’s KGHM Polska Miedź and PBE Molecule to explore the deployment of NuScale’s small modular reactor technology to repurpose or replace existing coal-fired power plants and provide electricity and heat for KGHM’s industrial processes in Poland.
