US president Donald Trump’s decision not to impose quotas for domestic uranium production has been welcomed by US nuclear power generators and uranium miners worldwide who had feared curbs on imports would hit sales and increase energy costs for end-consumers.A group of nuclear power generators, called the Ad Hoc Utilities Group, said it was pleased with Mr Trump’s decision. “It is clear the Trump administration recognises the enormous economic and resiliency benefits that the US nuclear energy industry provides to Americans,” the group said in a release.
