18 Oct (NucNet): Rusatom Overseas, a subsidiary of the Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom, has become a member of the Slovak Nuclear Society.
Rusatom Overseas said membership is intended to promote increased cooperation between Slovak and Russian scientific and academic communities in the nuclear sector.
Denisa Voleková, Rusatom Overseas director in Slovakia, said Slovakia and Russia have “a common successful history” in the nuclear industry, with four units at the Bohunice nuclear plant constructed using Russian nuclear technologies and producing more than half of Slovakia’s electricity. A statement said: “Now we are working on the common future in this field.”
