1 Jun (NucNet): Russian state nuclear company Rosatom plans to restructure subsidiary Rusatom Overseas into three companies, Rusatom Overseas said. After the restructuring, Rusatom Overseas will market Rosatom nuclear technology internationally, a statement said. Rusatom International will manage nuclear power plant construction in foreign countries on a build-own-operate basis. The statement said this will primarily include project management of the Akkuyu nuclear power station in Turkey and Hanhikivi nuclear power station in Finland. In addition, a company responsible for non-energy nuclear projects will be set up by the end of the year, the statement added. Kirill Komarov, Rosatom first deputy director-general, said Rusatom Overseas “has developed a massive layer of business activities that cannot physically exist within a single company”.
