Russian Generation III+ Unit Begins Pilot Operation At 90% Capacity

Unit 2 of the Novovoronezh 2 nuclear power station in southwest Russia has begun pilot operation and testing at 90% of capacity, Rosenergoatom, the operating subsidiary of state nuclear corporation Rosatom, announced.The Generation III+ VVER-1200 plant, construction of which began in 2009, was brought to minimum controlled power level on 22 March and on 1 May reached a level of 240 MW.
