Removal of buildings, containments, and offshore pipes to take eight years
US-based nuclear operator Southern California Edison (SCE) will begin today the dismantling of the San Onofre nuclear power station in California, the company told NucNet.According to SCE, the dismantling process will involve the removal of buildings, containment domes and, partially, offshore pipes from Units 2 and 3, and is expected to take eight years to complete.
