Sogin Takes Over Ispra-1 Research Reactor Ahead Of Dismantling

Italy’s state-owned nuclear decommissioning and radioactive waste management company Sogin has taken over the Ispra-1 research reactor located in the Joint Research Center (JRC) of the European Commission in near Varese in northern Italy. Sogin said it will now be responsible for the dismantling of the reactor in three phases: preliminary activities, reactor dismantling and final site remediation.
