The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has certified South Korea’s Advanced Power Reactor 1400 (APR1400) for use in the US, according to a statement by Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power Company (KHNP).KHNP and its parent-company Korea Electric Power Corporation submitted an application for design certification of the APR 1400 in December 2014.
