First of four units scheduled to start up in 2013
Turkey’s electricity transmission corporation Teias and Akkuyu NPP, the company building the country’s first commercial nuclear power station, have signed an agreement on connecting the facility to the grid. The agreement will allow Akkuyu and Teias to “carry out full-scale work to create a power distribution scheme for Akkuyu NPP”, a statement said. The work includes six high-voltage power lines for connecting Akkuyu to Turkey’s grid.Under the agreement, electricity generated by Akkuyu will be transmitted from the station via 400 kV power lines to six transformer substations that are part of Turkey’s grid.
