28 Jun (NucNet): A British electronics company has been awarded a contract worth 16.1 million pounds (24.5 million US dollars, 18.7 million euros) to support EDF Energy’s nuclear projects in the UK.
Ultra Electronics said its nuclear control systems business was awarded the contract for the supply of specialist instrumentation. Under the contract Ultra will manufacture and support safety-critical nuclear reactor instrumentation for use in EDF Energy’s current UK nuclear fleet of 15 reactors at seven sites.
Ultra is a supplier of nuclear qualified instrumentation and control systems to nuclear plant manufacturers and operators. It currently supplies safety based equipment to 113 reactors in 16 countries.
