19 Sep (NucNet): Nick Baldwin has been appointed acting chairman of the UK’s Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) for six months following Sir Anthony Cleaver’s retirement on 31 July 2007. Mr Baldwin has been a non-executive director of the NDA since October 2004.
His early career was with Thames Water and the Central Electricity Generating Board. He joined Powergen in 1989 and became Chief Executive in 2001.
Since leaving Powergen he has become a non-executive director of Scottish and Southern Energy and the Forensic Science Service.
The post of NDA chairman is a public appointment and recruitment is being handled by the Department for Business, Enterprise & Regulatory Reform.
