US Dependency On Foreign Uranium Is ‘A Recipe For Disaster’

25 Sep (NucNet): The US is facing a national security challenge because its commercial nuclear fleet, which generates 20% of the country’s electricity and about 60% of its carbon-free energy, has become almost entirely dependent on foreign uranium, much of it from countries with elevated geopolitical risks, Uranium Energy Corporation chairman Spencer Abraham wrote in an opinion column in the USA Today newspaper.
