16 May (NucNet): The US Department of Energy has given the go-ahead for a key infrastructure upgrade at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) in New Mexico to enable increased progress in efforts to address the environmental legacy of decades of nuclear weapons production and government-sponsored nuclear energy research.
