12 Sep (NucNet): Westinghouse has signed two cooperation agreements with China’s State Nuclear Power Automation Systems Engineering Company (SNPAS) for instrumentation and control (I&C) systems.
One of the agreements extends a previous agreement between the two parties signed in 2010 and will allow Westinghouse and SNPAS to continue cooperating on the supply of digital I&C systems for future Westinghouse AP1000 nuclear units to be built in China.
The second agreement establishes cooperation on I&C systems for nuclear units using designs derived from the AP1000, such as the China State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation’s CAP1400 reactor design.
