Move follows state senate’s failure to agree subsidy package
One day after the Illinois state senate adjourned without voting on an energy package that would have included nuclear power plant subsidies, Exelon filed a notice with grid operator PJM Interconnection of its intention to deactivate the two reactors at its Byron nuclear power station.
