The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission has approved a final supplemental environmental impact statement as part of the process of approving Exelon Generation Company's application to operate Units 2 and 3 at the Peach Bottom nuclear power station in Pennsylvania for an additional 20 years to a maximum of 80 years.The final supplemental environmental impact statement concludes that the potential environmental impacts of a licence renewal are not enough to prevent licence renewal.Exelon submitted the Peach Bottom licence renewal application in July 2018.
