Country has 22 reactors in commercial fleet
India’s nuclear regulator, the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERD), has a strong commitment to ensure nuclear and radiation safety in the country, but areas of improvements exist related to regulatory oversight for facilities and activities using radiation sources, an International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) mission found.
